Technology Drives country towards E-Health

The year 2015 is said to be the year of E-Health and this statement is holding true to date. As the year is on the verge of ending in a few months, E-health and its acceptance among users have reached a remarkable peak. With E-health comes technology and this technology has not only been an advantage to the patient but has been a helping hand to the doctors too. The online doctor advice in India is gaining wide popularity as the patients and doctors are now able to connect with each other on an online platform. Ease for both has lead to a boom in the sector of E-health. Doctors like Dr. Devi Shetty have also been a part of this interoperability platform and have extended their expert services and online medical help to patients all over India.
Also, with various doctors available in the country, patients now make a choice depending on factors such as geography, procedure, reviews and cost factors.

With E-health, maintaining the medical records has also become a child’s task.  The facility of maintaining free health records on a personalized cloud space has freed the patients of all the hassle of paperwork. These records can be accessed from anywhere by the patients and add on advantage is that it can be shared with the doctors anywhere in the world. For doctors also, it is an easy task now. They can have a quick access to the records of their patients and modify the line of treatment as and when required.

This introduction of technology into the healthcare services holds the potential and is putting more ease to this overall process. The power of decision is now being driven towards the patients from “the only option” to having “many choices”.

When it comes to personal grooming, we are always wanting an expert advice. So what happens to us when it is about our health or a seriously diagnosed condition or an operating procedure? Health always comes first and hence taking a second opinion in regards to your healthcare should always be your topmost priority.

There are times when a patient is misdiagnosed or given a treatment and advised surgery which is actually not required. Research says that mandatory second opinion leads to 20% drop in avoidable surgery. This is a figure that cannot be left unseen.  Especially in this era of internet, it has become very easy to consult doctors. You can have access to world-class facilities sitting at your desk. There are various healthcare organizations that are nowadays providing consultation from online top doctors such as  Dr. Harsha Hegde and have proved a boon to the medical field. Free from all the hassle of traveling as well as long waiting time, the doctors and patients can now interact with each other sitting in their respective places. Another add on these days is health tools which are being provided free of cost to the patients online. These free health tools are gaining wide acceptance and have interested a lot of patients. Right from measuring your BMI to total body water requirement and various other parameters, these tools help us to know more about what we are and where do we need to go. A person who drinks less amount of water can actually help a lot with the total body water requirement. This tool will help you to know the exact amount of water your body needs and you can compare it with where you currently are.

With the growing burden of diseases in India and increased healthcare cost, the need for the hour calls for a second opinion. Remember the procedure that you have been advised for may not always be medically necessary. So why take a step further when a second opinion may save you.
